This beautifully carved Satin Spar wand features seven colorful stones representing the traditional chakra system, making it a wonderful addition to a crystal collection, meditation practice, or decorative display. Each wand highlights Satin Spar's soft, silky luster and natural fibrous appearance.
Satin Spar and Selenite are both varieties of the mineral Gypsum (CaSO₄·2H₂O). Although the names are often used interchangeably in the crystal industry, Satin Spar and Selenite are actually different crystal habits of the same mineral. Satin Spar is the fibrous variety most commonly carved into wands and decorative pieces and is frequently sourced from Morocco.
In traditional crystal practices, Satin Spar is associated with cleansing, protection, intuition, and energetic renewal. The seven colored stones symbolize the traditional chakra system and are often incorporated into meditation and Reiki practices. These metaphysical associations are shared as part of longstanding cultural and spiritual traditions.

Educational Note
Although many crystal shops refer to this material simply as "Selenite," the carved wands most commonly sold today are actually made from Satin Spar Gypsum. Both Satin Spar and Selenite are the same mineral species—Gypsum—but they form with different crystal habits. Satin Spar develops a fibrous structure that produces its well-known silky sheen, making it especially suitable for carving.

Care
Gypsum is a very soft mineral and can scratch or chip easily. Avoid prolonged contact with water, as moisture may damage the surface over time. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth and store away from harder minerals.
